Why not try a hybrid approach?

What should you work on? Strength or flexibility?

If your goal is to improve flexibility in your hamstring's or improve stiffness in your back or upper back then working with a hybrid approach program would be a great way to include both types of training. To improve flexibility and mobility we want to improve strength at our end ranges.

Such as with your hamstring's when your legs are straight/ your hips are pushed back this is lengthening your hamstrings, or if you are bending at the knee this is shortening them. When you are experiencing tightness somewhere this is often due to either a muscle that is chronically shortened or a muscle that is taking more of the load due to another muscle not contributing as much

So by working your hamstrings in a lengthened way such as a Romanian deadlift this can over time help to increase flexibility, but say going into a Romanian deadlift no matter how much strengthening or stretching that you do they seem to still be super tight and stiff then working to improve strength and stability around the surrounding muscles will help to take the added strain and load off the hamstrings

With my personalized workouts i create them with a hybrid approach in mind, choosing exercises that will help you decrease stiffness around your troubled area whilst helping you get strong and build muscle.

You don't have to choose between building strength muscle and moving well - You can both
